well the visual studio community is the more complete IDE, you can write and compile code of a lot applications, WPF, Windows FOrms, C#, C++, Android, etc...

And visual studio code its for example a notepad where you can open projects, but as far as it goes, you can not compile code, and its multiple platform(installable in windows, mac or linux)

i recomend you download visual studio community.
