El torrent más viejo del mundo aun es descargado después de 12 años

El torrent más antiguo sigue activo y sigue siendo descargado. Es una versión ASCII de la película de ciencia-ficción The Matrix hecho por fans allá por 1999.

Para mantener vivo un archivo, al menos una persona tiene que seguir compartiéndolo. Aunque la mayoría de los torrents desaparecen después de que la gente pierde el interés, algunos torrents viven para siempre.

El sitio donde se originó este torrents ASCII ha desaparecido, pero el archivo sigue vivo.

TorrentFreak reporta que el torrent tiene más de 5.000 descargas completas. La fecha real de este torrent es un poco conflictiva. Mientras TorrentFreak dice que fue diciembre de 2003,  una caché de Internet Archive menciona que se puso a disposición en enero de 2004.

The Matrix-ASCII es la película Matrix original codificada en texto. El producto final es un archivo MPEG-2 de 7989979136 bytes de tamaño, demasiado grande para caber en un DVD5. Hay que volver a codificar la película ASCII para que pueda caber en un DVDR estándar. Necesitarás un reproductor multimedia que pueda reproducir vídeos MPEG-2 para ver bien la película y un reproductor de DVD para ver la película.
