Puedes instalar el VirtualBox independiente si tienes el cd de windows o GNU/Linux

y para usar ubuntu tengo que tener linux??   yo tengo el XP 

Para usar ubuntu necesitas el cd de Ubuntu, mira la web oficial y descargalo.
